“Beautiful, friendly spot in
paradise”
We just got back from a 2 week stay
at Hummingbird. The owner and staff
are wonderful. Very friendly and
helpful! The view of the Petite
Piton is amazing. And being right at
the ocean is great.
“The
Hummingbirds were everywhere...”
We stayed here for a few nights in
one of the budget friendly rooms
$90/night, with a shared bathroom.
It was the last two days of our
holiday and we were happy to be in
such a warm and cozy place. The
staff was very accommodating, the
room was charming (we loved falling
asleep and waking up to the sound of
the waves), and the location was
ideal for exploring the area on
foot.
Unfortunately, the prices at the
restaurant were high, even by North
American standards. Much of St.
Lucia seems to be experiencing this
problem. My recommendation, eat
where the locals eat. The food is
phenominal and barely a fraction of
what most tourist resort have set as
the standard.
“Wonderful
Hotel/Great Location and Personal
Service”
Stayed in the "view" room with 4
poster bed, netting and lovely
linens - gorgeous view of Piton,
Soufriere, Bay and pool. Everyone at
the Hummingbird is helpful and
friendly - make yourself at home is
the motto. Restaurant has wonderful
food, colorful table linens,
dynamite view and tropical flowers
everywhere. The hotel is directly on
the beach with the best local
snorkeling (start at the small pier
and head out along the
wall/shoreline). Better than Anse
Chastanet. I took water taxis to
Anse Chastanet for the diving
operation there (Scuba St. Lucia)
each day - much more fun than a land
taxi and quicker too. Scuba St.
Lucia is totally professional and
organized with shore and boat dives,
good equipment and you can chill at
the local beach restaurant between
dives. I would go back to the
Hummingbird any time - alone, with a
companion or as a group. You can
walk to town in about 5 minutes or
stay at the hotel and listen to the
surf. It was paradise. As a single
woman, I felt completely safe there.
A room safe holds your passport and
extra cash while you are out and
about. The owner is Joyce and she
knows how to make a guest happy.
